Jeff Young’s SCCA Triumph TR8 racecar. The engine was built in our machine shop. After the engine was built and installed, Peter Florence from PF Tuning tuned the vehicle on our chassis dyno. Jeff’s car utilizes a Megasquirt Engine Management System. To facilitate tuning, each exhaust pipe was fitted with it’s own wide-band lambda sensor. Individual cylinder air-fuel ratios were data logged via the Megasquit CAN bus.
This coming weekend Abacus Racing will be making the trek up to Watkins Glen to compete in the 2011 Zippo Vintage Grand Prix. They’ll be bringing the Lola Coupe with a brand new dry sump system and modified gear box as well as the Elva Courier with a new race prepped MSX Head from Mike out at Pierce Manifolds.
Also competing at the Glen this coming weekend will be two V8 MGBs that were tuned and prepped by Abacus.
Hey! thought everyone would like to see our lastest restoration at the shop. It’s a 1967 Corvette Coupe, 427 cu in, 400 hp all numbers matching car. Bill Thumel found it in arizona and as the pictures show we are doing a frame off restoration. We are building to NCRS Standards (National Corvette Restorer’s Society) and will get the car certifed and also show for AACA major points and gold classification. The car just came back from upholstery shop so more pictures to follow.

Abacus Racing’s team made an appearance at the March 18 – 19, 2011 Double National at Road Atlanta and put on quite a show! We took first place with the Jaguar and nearly lapped the field in both races. Our GT3 Nissan finished 2nd in the Saturday race under protest and was moved to 4th place. On Sunday the Nissan took 3rd.
